Addicted to You
Episode : 2
Tanisha Sultana
(Many people didn't like the name Tultul, so I gave it Adrita)
"I don't feel well. I can't cook."
Atia Begum said, stretching her body on the sofa in a tired manner. She has been feeling unwell for several days. She cannot eat fish or meat. She is vomiting repeatedly due to dizziness. She is forty-five years old. Her charm has diminished. There are dark circles under her eyes, and one or two hairs have turned white.
After her father-in-law's death, she voluntarily lives in the same house with her in-laws. Although the two in-laws are very affectionate, their wife does not look upon Atia Begum very well. She does not forget to sarcastically criticize her whenever she gets the chance.
Razia Begum noticed Atia Begum. She kept saying things but they were not said. Today she frowned and said
"I saw you vomiting yesterday. You couldn't eat fish. What happened? It's been so many years since your husband died. Your children have left you. Who did you sleep with on this occasion?"
Atia Begum does not react to her elder sister's words. When her husband passed away during her youth, her father and brother had told her many times, "Atia, start a new life. You can't live like this."
Atiya couldn't bring himself to accept it. He severed ties with his father and brother.
A scornful smile appeared at the corners of Atiya's lips. Razia's annoyance reached the sky. She repeatedly came forward to start a fight and argue. But she couldn't. Sometimes she got frustrated. She thought to herself, "Is Atiya Begum a human being or something else?"
But today he won't let go as if he had made a promise. He came forward and sat next to Atiya and said
"Haven't you thought about it? You're a mother of two. You're familiar with these symptoms. If something goes wrong, tell me. We'll take you to the doctor. We'll get you an abortion. We'll sort out the problem."
Atia opened her eyes. She observed Razia Begum with calm eyes. How carelessly she said those words. If her children were around, surely no one would have insulted her like this.
Adrita came forward with Annie in her arms. She had heard what her grandmother had said. She was waiting for her mother to protest. When would she say, "I don't think it's anything. Don't worry."
But Atia remained silent, disappointing Adri. Her eyes fluttered. She stood facing Razia and said in a low voice:
"Big Mom."
Don't talk to my mother like that. She is as pure as a flower. You need to change your mindset.
Razia stood up. She rushed towards Adri. She said loudly:
"I don't know who he is. I see everything with my own eyes. I don't understand why Afzal, the neighbor, comes to my house so often. We are just good people, so we keep quiet."
Annie let out a meow meow, as if she realized the woman was scolding Adri.
Razia looks at the cat's paw. Immediately she says
"You told your holy mother to destroy the child. Widows are human beings. There can be needs. I won't let our honor be ruined because of that."
And what do you mean by this? You are also a widow.
Atia Begum also stood up. Her eyes were wandering. Although all these words had not affected her before, this time they had affected her deeply. She pleaded in a voice that had caught her attention.
"Don't say things like that, Bhabhi. Adrita is not a widow. She will never be a widow."
Adri says with a frown.
"You must have lost your memory. You've forgotten. I'm not married. Neither are you, mother. Don't listen to me."
Razia was about to say something more when Atia grabbed her hand. She gestured and begged her not to say anything. Razia frowned. Atia Begum pulled her hand away from her with a flick of her wrist. Her anger was reaching the sky. If she could give Adri a slap on the cheek, she would feel peaceful. She had the courage to tell him that she had lost her memory.
"Can't you take your mother out of this house? Can't you give us some peace?"
Adri also says in the same tone.
"This house belongs to the eldest mother's son. Then get out of here."
Before he could finish the rest, Razia Begum's hand went up to Adri's cheek. She slapped him hard and silenced him. Adri was shaking her head. She stood there with her eyes closed for a few moments. She heard Atia Begum's cry. She felt a soft, fluffy hand embrace Adri.
Razia stops. She continues to say it out loud.
"How dare you, a girl from outside, tell me all this? Has your face grown? I'll beat you to death. Abrar is a thief. He stole the house from my father-in-law and disappeared. He left us with a lot of trouble. His mother is a perverted woman. She has become a prostitute in her old age."
And many more. Adri opened her eyes. Annie, who was in her lap, was making a meow meow sound and scolding Razia Begum. How dare she raise her hand against her own master. If Adri had come down from her lap, she would have slapped Razia by now. Atia Begum caressed Adri's cheek with a loving hand. She said with a hint of anger.
"Why do you talk so much? Can't you just keep quiet?"
Adri smiled softly, rested her head on Atia Begum's chest, and said in a catchy voice:
"Come on, Mom, let's go somewhere far away. Where there will be no one but you and me. We will have a peaceful family."
Atia Begum doesn't answer. She says to herself:
"Peace is not written on our foreheads, mother. We came into this world with broken foreheads. Our arrogance has plunged us into a sea of sorrow."
____
The city of Zurich in Switzerland is deserted and silent. Unlike Bangladesh, traffic jams, noise pollution, and noise do not exist. The light of dawn has broken several hours ago. Working people are rushing to their workplaces. The light has not yet been turned on in the small house located along the road. The inside of the house is shrouded in darkness. It is as if the sun has not yet risen.
As soon as you enter the main gate of the house, you notice the huge drawing room. Four large sofas are placed around it. There is a tea table in the middle. On top of that table is a tub of orchid flowers.
Kitchen on the left.
And straight stairs. As soon as you go up the stairs, you will notice two rooms. In front of one room, "Abrar Tasnin" is written in large letters. From the other room, you can hear a lot of yawning. He still hasn't completely fallen asleep. His eyes seem to be closing. He has a big phone in his hand. His eyes are still on the phone's screen. There are three wrinkles on his forehead. He had originally picked up the fan in his hand to sleep. While scrolling through Facebook's newsfeed, his eyes suddenly caught sight of an ID that had come from his friend. He immediately got out of bed in a hurry.
Siam knocks on Abrar's room door. His eyes fall on the nameplate. He reads the nameplate once, hesitantly. Immediately, his face turns away.
"Sister, we know your name is Abrar. You don't have to tell us."
He knocked again shortly after. There was no response from inside.
Annoyed, Siam pushed the door open and entered. He pressed the button on the switchboard on the right side to light up the room.
Abrar is sleeping with a blanket wrapped around his waist. His long hair is messy. Both hands are raised upwards. A white bandage is wrapped just above the black coal on his fair chest. There is also a one-time bandage on the left side of his navel. The blood on his forehead is dried and tight.
Siam stepped forward. He pulled the blanket from Abrar's body. He reached out and gently touched the cut areas. Immediately he said
"Abrar, do you have another sister besides Ahana?"
You didn't tell me before. How cute is your sister? She uploaded a picture with her aunt on Facebook.
Abrar opens his eyes. He looks at Siam's face. Or raises his eyebrows. Byas Siam understands.
"What's your problem with talking? Why do you always make such gestures? Sometimes I feel like I'm spending time with your wife and children. You're so excited that you're beckoning me to come closer."
Do you understand how painful such a gesture is in a single life?
Abrar slowly sat up. He pushed his hair back with his hands and raised his head. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and checked the time. He said in a serious voice,
"Stop the drama and tell me what happened?"
Siam sat down next to Abrar. He handed over the phone. There, a girl was clearly visible, her head resting on Atia Begum's shoulder, looking at the distant sea. She was wearing a blue top and black jeans. A blue veil hung around her neck. Her long hair was past her knees. Abrar's eyes were caught by the caption. It read
"I wish a superhero would come into my life. He would take me and my mother far away. Where everyone loved and respected us."
Abrar threw Siam's phone into the air. He left the room, crossed the balcony and found himself in the garden. His jaw had already tightened. With fire burning in his red eyes, the stunned Siam stared at Abrar's face for a while. Immediately, he cried out in a tearful voice.
"Did my phone hurt you, brother? I bought the phone five days ago."
Abrar took a deep breath. He closed his eyes and thought about something. He picked up his phone from the charger on the tea table next to the bed and said to Siam in a commanding tone while busy doing something.
"Arrange two tickets immediately."
Siam, forgetting Fen's grief, became worried. A smile soon appeared on the corners of his lips. By any chance, is Abrar arranging to bring the girl here for him?
"Will you bring your sister here? I've already told her, but I'm getting married. I won't be in love."
Abrar looked at Siam's face. Siam immediately ran out of the room. He had to go to the garden first. The phone had to be in the trunk.
Abrar is shouting loudly.
"I will kill her."
How dare he upload my mother's picture to Facebook?
